The KENNAMETAL 4150376 is a stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from solid carbide and finished with a TiN (tip) proprietary coating, this bit delivers hard-material drilling capability with extended tool life. It features a 140-degree point angle for aggressive, self-centering entry and a regular spiral flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.7087 inches in diameter, and the overall length is 4.8425 inches, making it well-suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine setups where rigidity and precision are critical.
This drill bit is intended for professional machining environments where tight tolerances and consistent hole quality are required. The B041A-CPG series stub-length profile keeps the tool close to the spindle for increased rigidity, reducing deflection in harder workpiece materials. It is appropriate for use in production shops, tool rooms, and job shops handling ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Maximum drilling depth is 2.0079 inches, and the flute length is 2.874 inches, supporting controlled depth operations in a wide range of fixturing setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production tooling option within the KENNAMETAL B041A-CPG series, suitable for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.7087-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool crib technician familiar with carbide cutting tool handling. Secure the straight shank firmly in a matched chuck or collet to the correct gripping depth before operation, and verify runout with a dial indicator when tolerances are critical. Solid carbide tooling is brittle and should not be dropped or subjected to side loading beyond the rated application. Always confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
