The KENNAMETAL 4150362 is a stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding machining environments. Built from solid carbide and coated with TiAlN at the tip, this bit delivers hardness and heat resistance suited for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals, stainless steels, and high-temperature alloys. It has a 41/64 inch (0.6406 inches decimal) cutting diameter, a 140-degree split-point angle for accurate self-centering entry, and an overall length of 4.8425 inches. The straight cylindrical shank and regular spiral flute geometry make it compatible with standard drill chucks and CNC machining centers. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users of this bit.
This bit is built for short-reach, high-rigidity drilling applications where stub length reduces deflection and improves hole location accuracy. Typical use cases include production drilling on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machines in job shop and production environments. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration support chip evacuation in moderate-depth holes. It is suited for applications requiring tight diameter tolerances, as the bit holds a diameter tolerance of -0.0007 to 0.0000 inches. Coolant-through is not supported on this model.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement in KENNAMETAL Series B041A-CPG and suitable for use in any CNC machining center, drill press, or screw machine accepting a 0.7087-inch straight shank. Conforms to DIN 6537K specification.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine fully powered down and spindle locked. Solid carbide tooling requires a rigid, low-runout tool holder — excessive runout will cause premature chipping or breakage. Follow the machine manufacturer and ANSI B11 series safety standards for drill press and machining center operation. Inspect the shank and collet bore for debris or damage before seating the tool.
