The KENNAMETAL 4150315 is a stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from solid carbide, it features a multilayer TiAlN coating at the tip to extend tool life under heat and abrasion. The 140-degree split point reduces walking and allows for faster penetration without a center punch. At 4.2126 inches overall length with a 2.3622-inch flute, this bit is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual screw machines where rigidity and close-tolerance holes are required.
This drill bit is built for professional machinists and toolroom technicians working in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials. Its stub-length geometry minimizes deflection in short-reach setups, making it a practical choice for high-volume production drilling and fixture work. The straight cylindrical shank at 0.5512 inches (14.00 mm) fits standard toolholders and collet chucks common in precision machining environments.
Designed as a replacement or production drill in the KENNAMETAL B041A-CPG series, conforming to DIN 6537K specification. Fits toolholders and collet chucks accepting a 0.5512-inch straight shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or chuck and verify runout before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 1.6929 inches per plunge without retracting to clear chips.
