The KENNAMETAL 4150236 is a screw machine length (stub) drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metal and hard materials. Built from solid carbide and coated with TiN at the tip, this bit delivers extended tool life and thermal resistance in demanding production environments. It features a 140-degree standard point angle for aggressive, accurate penetration, two regular spiral flutes for efficient chip evacuation, and a straight cylindrical shank with an 8.00 mm shank diameter. The overall length is 3.11 inches, keeping the setup rigid and reducing deflection. Machinists, tool-and-die shops, and CNC operators working in precision manufacturing environments are the primary users of this bit.
This drill bit is suited for short-hole drilling applications where rigidity and positional accuracy are critical. The stub length geometry minimizes overhang and vibration, making it appropriate for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine setups. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration support clean entry and exit in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. Maximum drilling depth is 0.9449 inches (24.00 mm), and flute length is 1.34 inches (34.00 mm). This bit conforms to DIN 6537K specification standards.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production cutting tool in the KENNAMETAL Series B041A-CPG. Fits standard straight-shank toolholders and drill chucks accepting an 8.00 mm shank diameter. Drill bit size falls within the 6.50 mm to 8.00 mm range bracket per the manufacturer specification grouping.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC technicians familiar with cutting tool setup procedures. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are fully stopped and de-energized before inserting or removing the bit. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable tolerance before use, as solid carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate selection appropriate to the workpiece material.
