The KENNAMETAL 4150227 is a screw machine length (stub) drill bit engineered for precision hole-making in metalworking applications. Built from solid carbide and coated with a TiN (Tip) proprietary finish, this bit delivers excellent wear resistance and heat management in production drilling environments. It features a 140-degree split point for fast penetration and reduced walking on entry, with a regular spiral flute geometry and tapered web configuration. At 6.10 mm in diameter and 79.00 mm overall length, it is sized for compact, high-torque spindle work. Installation and use are suited to machinists and tool and die technicians running CNC or manual drill press operations.
This drill bit is designed for stub-length drilling applications requiring tight diameter tolerances and controlled chip evacuation. The straight cylindrical shank measures 8.00 mm in diameter, making it compatible with standard collet and chuck systems used in machining centers and drill presses. With a maximum drilling depth of 24.00 mm and a flute-to-diameter ratio of 3xD, it is well suited for shallow-to-moderate depth holes in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It conforms to DIN 6537K specification, which is standard in precision machining environments.
Part of the KENNAMETAL Series B041A-CPG stub drill line, designed for use with standard collet systems and drill chucks accepting an 8.00 mm straight shank. Diameter tolerance of -0.015 to 0.000 mm ensures consistent fitment across compatible toolholders in the 5.00 to 6.50 mm drill bit size range.
This bit is installed and serviced by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized collet or chuck to prevent runout, and verify that the chuck or collet is rated for the shank diameter before operation. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material.
