The KENNAMETAL 4150218 is a stub-length (screw machine length) solid carbide drill bit engineered for high-precision drilling in metalworking and machining applications. The bit measures 5.50 mm in diameter with an overall length of 66.00 mm (2.598 inches) and features a 140-degree split-point geometry that reduces walking and improves hole entry accuracy. A multilayer TiAlN coating at the tip extends tool life under elevated heat conditions. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6.00 mm in diameter, and the regular spiral flute configuration provides efficient chip evacuation in a compact stub-length profile. This bit is specified to DIN 6537K standards.
This drill bit is designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine operations where short overall length provides rigidity and runout control. The stub flute length of 28.00 mm (1.102 inches) supports maximum drilling depths up to 20.00 mm (0.787 inches), making it appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole work in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials. It is well suited for production environments where tight hole tolerances and consistent tool life are priorities. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators are the typical end users.
Part of the KENNAMETAL Series B041A-CPG, sized for applications within the 5.00 mm to 6.50 mm drill bit diameter range per DIN 6537K. Designed as a direct-use or replacement drill bit for screw machine and stub-length drilling setups requiring a 6.00 mm straight shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank fully within the collet or chuck to the manufacturer-recommended grip depth before operation. Ensure spindle, toolholder, and workpiece are properly secured and the machine is at a complete stop before changing tooling. Follow applicable shop safety protocols and machine tool manufacturer guidelines for speeds, feeds, and coolant application.
