The KENNAMETAL 4150212 is a screw machine length (stub) solid carbide drill bit designed for high-precision hole-making in metal and hard materials. Built to DIN 6537K standards, it carries a 140-degree split-point geometry that reduces walking and improves chip evacuation on entry. The TiN tip coating extends cutting-edge life under demanding production conditions. At 2.5984 inches overall length with a 1.1024-inch flute, this compact drill is built for rigid setups where a shorter stick-out minimizes deflection. Machinists, tool-and-die shops, and CNC operators working in aerospace, automotive, or general metalworking applications are the primary users of this series.
The 4150212 is suited for stub-reach drilling in fixtures, jigs, and machine tools where clearance is limited and hole accuracy is critical. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.2362 inches in diameter and seats directly into standard collet chucks or drill chucks without additional adapters. With a maximum drilling depth of 0.7874 inches (20.00 mm) and a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio, this bit handles through-holes and blind holes in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials in production environments.
Designed as an OEM-spec replacement or production drill in the KENNAMETAL Series B041A-CPG stub drill program, compatible with standard straight-shank collet chucks and drill chucks accepting a 0.2362-inch shank diameter.
Installation and operation of solid carbide drill bits should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with cutting tool setup and speeds-and-feeds selection. Ensure the machine spindle and chuck are fully powered down and locked out before loading or removing the bit. Inspect the shank and collet bore for chips or contamination before seating to avoid runout. Solid carbide is brittle compared to HSS — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper parameters, or dropping the tool on hard surfaces.
