The KENNAMETAL 4150194 is a solid carbide stub-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding machining applications. Built to DIN 6537K standards, this Series B041A-CPG bit features a 140-degree point angle for aggressive entry and reduced thrust, paired with a multilayer TiAlN coating at the tip to extend tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. The drill measures 2.5984 inches overall length with a 0.9449-inch flute length and cuts a 0.1590-inch diameter hole. The straight cylindrical shank diameter is 0.2362 inches, providing consistent tool holding in standard drill chucks and collet systems. Installed by machinists and CNC operators, this bit is suited for production environments where tight tolerances and repeatable performance are required.
The 4150194 is intended for screw machine and stub-length applications in metal-cutting operations, including ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a short, rigid drill geometry reduces deflection and improves hole location accuracy. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration support chip evacuation in shallow-to-moderate depth holes. Maximum drilling depth is 0.6693 inches. This bit fits manual drill presses, CNC machining centers, and screw machines equipped for straight-shank tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production drill bit for straight-shank tooling setups conforming to DIN 6537K stub-length specifications; confirm spindle and chuck compatibility before installation.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the machine powered down and all energy sources locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the straight shank fully within the collet or chuck to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth to prevent pullout under cutting load. Inspect the drill point and cutting edges for damage before each use; carbide is brittle and susceptible to chipping if subjected to side loads or improper feed rates. Dispose of worn tooling per shop waste protocols.
