The KENNAMETAL 4150161 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-productivity drilling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built from solid carbide with a TiN (tip-only) coating, this bit delivers extended tool life and consistent hole quality in tough workpiece materials. It measures 3.30 mm in diameter with a 140-degree split-point angle that reduces thrust force and improves center-starting accuracy. The overall length is 62.00 mm (2.44 inches), with a 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. The compact screw machine length profile makes it well suited for short, rigid setups where deflection must be minimized. It is part of the Kennametal Series B041A and conforms to DIN 6537K specifications.
This drill bit is intended for use in machining centers, CNC lathes, drill presses, and screw machine operations where close-tolerance holes are required. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration support chip evacuation in these materials. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC operators working in job shop or production environments will find this bit appropriate for short-depth hole drilling up to 14.00 mm (0.55 inches) maximum drilling depth.
Designed as an OEM-style screw machine drill bit conforming to DIN 6537K and DIN 6535 standards, suitable for use with standard straight-shank toolholders and chucks accepting a 6.00 mm shank diameter.
This drill bit is installed by a machinist or CNC operator into a compatible straight-shank chuck or collet system rated for the 6.00 mm shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and power is locked out before changing tooling. Verify that cutting speed and feed rate are set according to the workpiece material and machine manufacturer guidelines before beginning the drilling cycle. Do not use this bit for drilling depths exceeding the stated maximum drilling depth of 14.00 mm without an appropriate peck-drilling cycle to manage chip evacuation.
