The KENNAMETAL 4149327 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. It features a 33/64 inch (0.5156 inch decimal) diameter, a 140-degree point angle for improved self-centering and reduced thrust, and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life under heat and abrasion. The straight cylindrical shank and right-hand spiral flute geometry make this drill a direct fit for standard drill chucks and CNC machining centers. It is installed and operated by machinists and tooling professionals working in production and job-shop environments.
This drill is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous alloys. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and coolant-through design support deeper hole applications where chip evacuation and thermal management are critical. With an overall length of 4.8819 inches (124.00 mm) and a flute length of 3.0315 inches (77.00 mm), it is appropriate for general-purpose jobber-length drilling operations on vertical machining centers, drill presses, and CNC lathes. It conforms to DIN 6537K specification, which governs solid carbide drill geometry and tolerances.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The straight cylindrical shank with a shank diameter of 0.2656 inches is compatible with standard collet chucks and drill chucks used on CNC machining centers and conventional drill presses.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the tool holder before operation. Coolant-through capability requires a machine spindle with internal coolant delivery to function as intended. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use and replace the tool at the first signs of chipping or excessive wear to avoid workpiece damage.
