The KENNAMETAL 4149321 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. Built to DIN 6537K specification, it features a 12.50 mm diameter, a 140-degree split point, and a multilayer TiAlN coating for extended tool life and heat resistance at elevated cutting speeds. The straight cylindrical shank measures 14 mm in diameter and seats securely in standard drill chucks or collet holders. With coolant-through capability and a tapered web configuration, this drill is suited for machining environments where chip evacuation and thermal management are critical. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or job-shop settings are the primary users.
This jobber drill is engineered for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry support consistent chip flow across a range of feed and speed conditions. A maximum drilling depth of 60.00 mm makes it appropriate for through-holes and blind holes in medium-thickness workpieces. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes configured for conventional rotation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for applications requiring a 12.50 mm solid carbide jobber drill conforming to DIN 6537K with a straight cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling protocols. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the drill. Verify chuck or collet bore compatibility with the 14 mm straight shank before clamping. Carbide tooling is brittle - avoid side loads, interrupted cuts without appropriate parameters, or dropping the tool on hard surfaces.
