The KENNAMETAL 4149302 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. It features an 11.00 mm diameter, a 140-degree point angle for improved centering and reduced thrust, and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The overall length is 118.00 mm (4.646 inches) with a 71.00 mm (2.795 inches) flute length. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and heat management in deep-hole applications. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators install this drill in standard machining centers and drill presses.
This drill is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials in both job-shop and production settings. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry support efficient chip removal in through-hole and blind-hole configurations. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard drill chucks and collet holders, making it straightforward to integrate into existing setups without special tooling. It conforms to DIN 6537K specification, which governs tolerances and geometry for solid carbide jobber drills.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide jobber drill for machining applications involving steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials within the 10.00 mm to 12.50 mm drill diameter range per DIN specification.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Before mounting, ensure the spindle or drill press is fully powered down and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Verify the collet or chuck bore matches the 12 mm straight shank diameter before tightening. Confirm coolant-through lines are connected and flow is adequate before initiating the cut, and inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear between operations.
