The KENNAMETAL 4149301 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Ground to a 140-degree point angle and coated with a multilayer TiAlN coating, it delivers fast chip evacuation and extended tool life in difficult-to-machine workpieces. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 12 mm in diameter, and the overall length is 118 mm (4.6457 inches). With a regular spiral flute design and tapered web configuration, this drill maintains cutting stability and reduces walking on entry. It is suited for CNC machining centers and production drilling operations where consistency and hole quality are critical.
This drill is designed for right-hand cutting in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. It conforms to DIN 6537K specification, making it a direct fit for shops that standardize tooling to DIN tolerances. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate flute length for typical jobber-depth holes, and the coolant-through design allows internal coolant delivery to keep the cutting edge cool and flush chips during deep-hole drilling. Machinists, tool-and-die shops, and production CNC operations are the primary users.
Compatible with primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys. Conforms to DIN 6537K specification. Suitable for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with straight-shank toolholders accepting a 12 mm shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in a collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before operation. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are set per the material and coating manufacturer recommendations before cutting. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing or inspecting the tool.
