The KENNAMETAL 4149255 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and metalworking applications. It measures 8.20 mm (0.3228 inches) in diameter with a 140-degree drill point angle and a titanium nitride (TiN) coating for extended tool life. The overall length is 103.00 mm (4.0551 inches), with a flute length of 61.00 mm (2.4016 inches) and a straight shank diameter of 10 mm (0.3750 inches). The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and right-hand, regular spiral flute geometry support efficient chip evacuation and consistent hole quality. This bit is suited for machinists and tooling professionals running production or precision drilling operations.
The 4149255 is engineered for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. Its coolant-through design makes it well suited for CNC machining centers and drill presses where through-tool coolant delivery is available, helping to manage heat and extend tool life in deep-hole or high-cycle applications. The maximum drilling depth is 49.00 mm (1.9291 inches). The tapered web configuration adds rigidity at the cutting zone, which helps reduce deflection when entering hard materials.
Designed as a jobber length drill bit per DIN 6537K specification, suitable for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and similar equipment that accept a straight shank with a 10 mm (0.3750 inch) shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys.
Installation and operation of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with cutting tool setup and machine safety. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder or chuck is clean and undamaged before seating the shank. Confirm the collet or chuck is rated for the 10 mm shank diameter and that the holding torque meets the machine manufacturer recommendations. When using the coolant-through feature, verify coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machine and tool specifications before beginning a cut.
