The KENNAMETAL 4149243 is a solid carbide jobber drill designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. The drill features a 7.20 mm diameter, a 140-degree split point, and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life when cutting through abrasion-resistant workpiece materials. Overall length is 91.00 mm (3.5827 inches), making it suitable for standard jobber-length drilling applications. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and heat management during deep-hole drilling cycles. The straight cylindrical shank is sized at 8 mm for secure chuck engagement in CNC machining centers and manual drill presses alike.
This drill is suited for production drilling of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous materials. It conforms to DIN 6537K specification, making it a direct fit for shops standardized on metric DIN tooling. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 53.00 mm flute length support a maximum drilling depth of 43.00 mm (1.6929 inches). Machinists and CNC operators working in automotive, aerospace, and general metalworking applications will find this drill compatible with common tool holding and coolant delivery setups.
Designed as an OEM-specification replacement or direct-use jobber drill for CNC machining centers and drill presses using standard straight-shank tool holders in the 7.00 mm to 8.00 mm drill bit size range, per DIN 6537K.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify chuck or collet clamping torque per the tool holder manufacturer specification. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm coolant pressure and flow rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and cutting parameters before initiating a cycle.
