The KENNAMETAL 4149235 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit sized to Letter G (0.261 inches / 0.2610 decimal inch diameter). It features a 140-degree standard point angle and a multilayer TiAlN coating designed to extend tool life in demanding cutting applications. The straight cylindrical shank measures 8 mm (0.2344 inches) in diameter with a shank length of 1.4173 inches. The drill has a 2-flute regular spiral flute configuration and an overall length of 3.5827 inches (91 mm). It conforms to DIN 6537K specification and includes through-coolant capability, making it well suited for high-performance metalcutting operations where heat and chip evacuation are critical concerns. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This drill is intended for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. It is appropriate for both CNC machining centers and manual drill press operations where close-tolerance hole making is required. The 5xD flute-by-diameter ratio and 43 mm (1.6929 inches) maximum drilling depth make it a practical choice for through-holes and blind holes in short-to-medium depth applications across general metalworking and production environments.
Designed as an OEM-specification solid carbide jobber drill compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet systems accepting an 8 mm (0.2344 inch) shank diameter. Suitable for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials per manufacturer specification.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC technicians familiar with cutting tool setup and speeds-and-feeds selection. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped before tool changes. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 1.6929 inches without retracting to clear chips, particularly when through-coolant is not active.
