The KENNAMETAL 4149234 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. It features a 6.60 mm (0.2598 inch) diameter, a 140-degree split point, and a multilayer TiAlN coating for extended tool life under elevated cutting temperatures. The overall length is 91.00 mm (3.5827 inches), with a flute length of 53.00 mm (2.0866 inches). The straight cylindrical shank measures 8 mm (0.5938 inch) in diameter. This drill is installed and used by machinists, toolroom technicians, and production drilling operators working with CNC machining centers, drill presses, and multi-spindle equipment.
This jobber drill is suited for production and job-shop drilling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports moderate depth drilling, with a maximum drilling depth of 43.00 mm (1.6929 inches). The coolant-through design enables internal coolant delivery directly to the cutting edge, making it well suited for higher feed rates and longer tool life in interrupted or continuous cuts. It conforms to DIN 6537K specification for consistent dimensional standards across tooling setups.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and other rotating spindle equipment with straight-shank toolholders accepting an 8 mm shank diameter. Suitable for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials per DIN 6537K specification.
This drill is installed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are fully stopped and de-energized before inserting or removing the drill. Use a properly sized collet or drill chuck rated for the 8 mm straight shank to ensure concentricity and secure clamping. Confirm coolant-through lines are clear and delivering adequate flow before running at full feed rates to prevent premature tool wear or breakage.
