The KENNAMETAL 4149232 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. It features a 6.50 mm (0.2559 inch) cutting diameter, a 140-degree split point for self-centering entry, and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life under elevated cutting temperatures. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 8 mm in diameter and seats directly in standard drill chucks or collet holders. With an overall length of 91.00 mm (3.5827 inches) and a right-hand spiral flute configuration, this drill is built for production-rate drilling where consistency and tool life matter. It is sold individually and conforms to DIN 6537K geometry.
This drill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials in industrial and job-shop environments. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 53.00 mm flute length support chip evacuation in deeper holes up to a maximum drilling depth of 43.00 mm (1.6929 inches). Coolant-through capability makes it compatible with through-spindle coolant systems, reducing heat buildup and improving chip clearing in blind and through-hole applications. CNC machining centers and drill presses with coolant delivery are the typical platforms for this tool.
Designed as a DIN 6537K jobber drill for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and rotary toolholders accepting an 8 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpieces in the 6.00 mm to 7.00 mm drill size range.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with cutting tool setup. Before changing or seating the drill, power down the spindle and confirm the machine is in a safe, locked-out state. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped to the correct torque specification for the toolholder in use. When using coolant-through capability, verify that coolant pressure and flow rate are matched to the toolholder and spindle specifications before beginning the cut.
