The KENNAMETAL 4149226 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. It features a 6.00 mm (0.2362 inch) diameter, a 140-degree point angle, and a multilayer TiAlN coating for extended tool life under heat and abrasion. The overall length is 82.00 mm (3.2283 inches), with a 44.00 mm (1.7323-inch) flute length and a maximum drilling depth of 35.00 mm (1.3780 inches). A two-flute, right-hand spiral geometry and tapered web design promote efficient chip evacuation. This drill is built to DIN 6537K specification and includes through-the-tool coolant capability, making it well suited for production machining environments.
This drill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automated production cells where consistent hole quality is required. It is rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous materials, covering a broad range of workpiece applications. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and straight-cylindrical shank allow direct chuck or collet mounting without adapters. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing will find this drill suited to tight-tolerance drilling operations.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard-issue solid carbide jobber drill for any machine tool spindle or chuck accepting a 6.00 mm (0.2362-inch) straight-cylindrical shank, conforming to DIN 6537K.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle powered down and locked out per applicable machine safety procedures. The straight-cylindrical shank requires a properly sized collet, end-mill holder, or drill chuck rated for the intended RPM and feed load. Verify runout at the shank before operation to protect both the tool and the workpiece. Through-coolant passages must be cleared and confirmed open before use in coolant-fed setups.
