The KENNAMETAL 4149219 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 7/32 inch (0.2188 inch) diameter, a 140-degree split point for accurate self-centering entry, and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life by reducing heat buildup and wear at the cutting edge. The overall length is 3.2283 inches (82 millimeters) with a 1.7323-inch flute length. A right-hand, regular spiral flute configuration promotes efficient chip evacuation. This drill is built to DIN 6537K specification and is suited for CNC machining centers and production drilling applications where dimensional accuracy and tool longevity are required.
This jobber drill is well-suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials in both shop and production environments. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.3438 inches in diameter, making it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders. Coolant-through capability supports high-feed drilling strategies where internal coolant delivery is available, improving chip flushing and extending tool life in deep-hole applications. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio falls within the standard jobber-length range, making this bit appropriate for general-purpose hole-making where extended reach is not required.
Compatible with primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous metals. Fits standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.3438-inch straight cylindrical shank. Conforms to DIN 6537K specification.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable machine safety procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet or chuck is torqued to the toolholder manufacturer's specification before operation. Do not exceed the recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material, as solid carbide tooling is sensitive to lateral loading and interrupted cuts that can cause chipping or fracture.
