The KENNAMETAL 4149209 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. It features a 140-degree point angle optimized for self-centering entry and reduced thrust, a multilayer TiAlN coating for heat and wear resistance, and a right-hand spiral flute configuration. The overall length is 82.00 mm (3.228 inches) with a 44.00 mm (1.732 inch) flute length and a 6 mm (0.141 inch) straight cylindrical shank. This drill meets DIN 6537K specification and includes through-coolant capability, making it suitable for high-speed CNC drilling operations in production environments.
This drill is engineered for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration support chip evacuation and stability at moderate drilling depths up to 35.00 mm (1.378 inches). It is a preferred tool for machinists and tooling technicians running tight-tolerance work in job shops, aerospace component manufacturing, and general metalworking where consistent hole quality is critical.
Designed as an OEM-compatible solid carbide jobber drill for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and other machine tool spindles accepting a straight cylindrical shank with a 6 mm (0.141 inch) shank diameter. Fits tool holders and collet chucks sized for straight-shank tooling in the 4.00 mm to 5.00 mm drill diameter range.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician following standard tool-change procedures for the machine in use. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the straight shank fully in a matched collet or toolholder and verify runout before production use. Refer to the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols when setting feeds, speeds, and coolant flow.
