The KENNAMETAL 4149199 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. Featuring a 140-degree point angle and a multilayer TiAlN coating, this drill delivers aggressive cutting action with extended tool life in production environments. The 4.30 mm cutting diameter pairs with a 6 mm straight cylindrical shank and a 2-flute regular spiral geometry. Overall length is 74.00 mm (2.9134 inches), with a flute length of 36.00 mm (1.4173 inches). Coolant-through capability makes it well suited for deep-hole applications and chip evacuation in difficult materials. Manufactured to DIN 6537K specification, it is used primarily by machinists and CNC operators in metal fabrication and machining shops.
This drill is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports a maximum drilling depth of 29.00 mm (1.1417 inches). The straight cylindrical shank with a shank diameter of 6 mm (0.3438 inches) allows direct mounting in standard drill chucks and collet holders. It is appropriate for both manual and CNC machine tool applications requiring consistent hole diameter tolerances in the 4.00 mm to 5.00 mm size range.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. Fits standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 6 mm straight shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine tools within the 4.00 mm to 5.00 mm drill bit size range per DIN specification.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully powered down and spindle at rest. Confirm the collet or chuck is rated for the 6 mm shank diameter and is properly torqued before operation. Coolant-through setups require verification that spindle coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machine and tool manufacturer guidelines before drilling. Inspect the cutting edge for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide tooling can fracture if run in a compromised condition.
