The KENNAMETAL 4149192 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metal-cutting applications. It features a 5/32 inch (0.1562 inch decimal) diameter, a 140-degree split-point geometry, and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life in abrasive and heat-intensive cuts. Overall length is 74.00 mm (2.913 inches), with a flute length of 36.00 mm (1.417 inches). The straight cylindrical shank measures 6 mm (0.422 inch) in diameter. Right-hand cutting with a regular spiral flute pattern, this drill is built to DIN 6537K specification. Installation is handled by machinists and tool-room technicians working with CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools in industrial environments.
This drill bit is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. Its 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and through-coolant capability make it well suited for deeper hole drilling in production environments where heat buildup and chip evacuation are primary concerns. The tapered web configuration adds point strength and improves self-centering on entry. Applicable to both high-volume production drilling and precision toolroom work where consistent diameter tolerance is required. Diameter tolerance is held to -0.0005 to 0.0000 inch for close-fit hole applications.
Designed as a standard jobber-length replacement drill conforming to DIN 6537K. Compatible with any toolholder or drill chuck accepting a 6 mm (0.422 inch) straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpieces per manufacturer specification.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tool-and-die technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the straight shank firmly in a collet, drill chuck, or toolholder rated for the shank diameter before operation. When using through-coolant capability, verify coolant supply connections and pressure settings are compatible with the machine spindle before running.
