The KENNAMETAL 4149190 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance metal cutting in production and maintenance environments. It features a 3.80 mm diameter, a 140-degree point angle for aggressive penetration and self-centering on hard materials, and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life under heat and friction. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6 mm in diameter and seats directly in standard drill chucks or collet holders. Overall length is 74 mm (2.9134 inches) with a 36 mm flute length. This drill is built to DIN 6537K specification and includes through-coolant capability, making it suited for CNC machining centers and automated drilling operations where heat management is critical.
This drill bit is engineered for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and two-flute regular spiral design promote efficient chip evacuation in deep-hole applications up to 29 mm drilling depth. Machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and CNC operators working in job shops, fabrication facilities, and production lines will find this bit well suited to demanding short-run and high-volume drilling programs where dimensional accuracy and hole quality are priorities.
Designed as an OEM-specification replacement and production-use jobber drill for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and multi-spindle setups using standard straight-shank collet chucks or drill chucks accepting a 6 mm shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the drill from the chuck or collet holder. Confirm collet or chuck bore matches the 6 mm straight shank for secure, concentric seating. When using through-coolant, verify coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machine and tooling system specifications before beginning the drilling cycle.
