The KENNAMETAL 4149161 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metal-cutting applications. It features a 2.70 mm (0.1063 inch) diameter with a 140-degree point angle and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life in abrasive and heat-intensive cuts. The overall length is 58.00 mm (2.28 inches), with a 22.00 mm (0.87 inch) flute length and a straight cylindrical shank measuring 4 mm (0.63 inch) in diameter. A right-hand, regular spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed operation in production environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this drill.
This drill is suited for production and precision drilling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. Its 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio makes it appropriate for moderate-depth holes in both manual and CNC machining setups. The DIN 6537K specification ensures dimensional consistency for use in standard toolholders and collet chucks across job shop and industrial manufacturing environments. The tapered web configuration improves centering and reduces thrust at entry.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting straight-shank toolholders. Compatible with workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys. Fits within the 2.00 mm to 3.00 mm drill diameter range for standard collet and hydraulic chuck systems.
Installation and use of this drill should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Confirm the toolholder and collet are rated for the 4 mm shank diameter before seating the drill. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. When using coolant-through capability, ensure the machine spindle and toolholder both support internal coolant delivery to avoid pressure loss or improper flow.
