The KENNAMETAL 4149157 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It measures 2.50 mm in diameter with a 140-degree point angle and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life in demanding applications. The overall length is 58.00 mm (2.2835 inches), with a straight cylindrical shank of 4 mm (0.2500 inches) in diameter. Two regular spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently, and coolant-through capability supports deep-hole drilling strategies. This drill is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC machining centers or precision drilling fixtures.
This drill is suited for production and job-shop environments where tight tolerances and consistent hole quality are required. It performs in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 17.00 mm (0.6693 inches) make it appropriate for through-holes and blind holes in short-to-medium depth applications. It conforms to DIN 6537K specifications, making it a direct fit for standard toolholders and collets designed to that standard.
Designed for use with standard straight-shank collet chucks and toolholders accepting a 4 mm (0.2500 inch) shank diameter per DIN 6537K. Compatible with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials as noted in the product specifications.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual drilling equipment. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and free of runout before seating the drill. Power down and de-energize the machine before changing tooling. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 17.00 mm without evaluating chip load and coolant delivery, as carbide tooling is brittle and sensitive to deflection or interrupted cuts without proper support.
