The KENNAMETAL 4149153 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance metal cutting in demanding production environments. It features a 3/32-inch diameter, a 140-degree split point, and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life under high-heat drilling conditions. The overall length is 2.28 inches (58 millimeters), with a flute length of 0.87 inches (22 millimeters). The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.3125 inches in diameter. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management during deep-hole operations. This drill is manufactured to DIN 6537K specification and is suited for use in machining centers, CNC drill presses, and production drilling fixtures.
This drill bit is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials, making it a versatile choice for machine shops and production facilities. The right-hand, regular spiral flute geometry with a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides consistent chip flow in both through-hole and blind-hole applications. A tapered web configuration adds rigidity and reduces walking at entry. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians working in precision machining operations are the primary installers and users of this tool.
Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys. Fits standard straight-shank toolholders and collet chucks accepting a 0.3125-inch shank diameter. Dimensioned to DIN 6537K for interchangeability with other drill bits of the same specification.
This tool is installed and used by machinists and CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the straight shank in a properly sized collet or drill chuck to the holding equipment manufacturer's specified clamping torque range. When using coolant-through capability, verify that coolant supply pressure and flow rate are appropriate for the machine and workpiece material before starting the cut.
