The KENNAMETAL 4149151 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. It features a 2.20 mm (0.0866 inch) diameter, a 140-degree split-point geometry, and a multilayer TiAlN coating for extended tool life under elevated cutting temperatures. The overall length is 58.00 mm (2.2835 inches), with a 4 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Two right-hand spiral flutes provide efficient chip evacuation. This drill is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals running CNC machining centers or manual drill presses where tight-tolerance hole making is required.
The 4149151 is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 14.00 mm (0.5512 inch) maximum drilling depth make it a practical choice for through-hole and blind-hole applications in short-run and high-volume production settings. The coolant-through design supports internal coolant delivery, which is especially beneficial when drilling stainless steel or other work-hardening alloys where heat buildup shortens tool life. Conforms to DIN 6537K specification.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production tooling option for CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting a 4 mm straight-cylindrical shank, within the 2.00 mm to 3.00 mm drill bit size range per DIN specification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following applicable shop safety procedures. Confirm the spindle or chuck is fully stopped and de-energized before inserting or removing the bit. Use a properly sized collet or drill chuck rated for the 4 mm shank diameter to ensure concentricity and prevent runout. When using the coolant-through feature, verify that coolant pressure and flow rate are compatible with the machine spindle before initiating a cut.
