The KENNAMETAL 4149150 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to DIN 6537K standards, it features a 2.10 mm diameter with a 140-degree point angle and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life in abrasive and high-heat cutting environments. The right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the straight cylindrical shank provides secure clamping in standard drill chucks and collets. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed drilling cycles in production settings. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals specify this drill for precision small-diameter work.
This drill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 18.00 mm flute length make it appropriate for short to medium depth holes in both manual and CNC machining centers. The tapered web configuration and standard point type support accurate self-starting entry without a pilot hole in most setups. It is commonly used in job shops, production machining, and toolroom environments where tight diameter tolerances and consistent hole quality are required.
Designed as an OEM-specification solid carbide jobber drill conforming to DIN 6537K, compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and collets accepting a 4 mm shank diameter in CNC machining centers and manual drill presses.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine locked out per facility safety procedures. Ensure the collet or chuck bore is clean and within tolerance before seating the straight shank. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 14.00 mm per pass without retracting to clear chips. Confirm coolant lines are properly directed when using the coolant-through feature to prevent thermal shock to the carbide substrate.
