The KENNAMETAL 4149148 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. It measures 1.98 mm in diameter with a 140-degree point angle and features a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life in abrasive and heat-intensive cutting conditions. The overall length is 58.00 mm (2.2835 inches), and the flute length is 18.00 mm (0.7087 inches). A straight cylindrical shank with a 4 mm shank diameter (0.5000 inches) ensures secure seating in standard chucks and collets. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management during deep-hole drilling cycles. This bit is rated to a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and conforms to DIN 6537K standards.
This drill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. It is a right-hand cutting, regular spiral flute design with a tapered web configuration, making it appropriate for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automated production lines where precision and consistency are critical. The 1.98 mm diameter places it in the 0.0500 to 0.1000 decimal inch size range, and it is commonly used in aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking applications where tight tolerances and tool longevity are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and high-performance option for applications requiring a 1.98 mm solid carbide jobber drill conforming to DIN 6537K. Compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 4 mm shank diameter.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Before changing tooling, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable tolerance before use, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a carbide tool. Coolant-through setups should confirm pressure and flow rates are compatible with the machine spindle before operating.
