The KENNAMETAL 4132011 is a bottoming-style thread forming tap designed for 6-32 UNC internal threads in blind hole applications. Unlike cutting taps, thread forming taps cold-form material to produce the thread profile, eliminating chips and improving thread strength in ductile materials. This tap is manufactured from Vanadium High Speed Steel (HSS-E) for enhanced toughness and wear resistance, and is coated with TiCN to reduce friction and extend tool life in steel workpieces. At 2 inches overall length with a 0.375-inch thread length and 1.5 to 2 chamfered threads at the lead, it is sized for compact blind hole work.
