The KENNAMETAL 4112651 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in steel and other ferrous materials. It features a 135-degree split-point angle that reduces walking at entry and lowers thrust force during penetration. The TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-speed and dry-cutting applications. With an overall length of 4.0551 inches and a flute length of 2.4016 inches, this bit is built to DIN 6537K standards. Coolant-through construction delivers cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, making it well-suited for deep-hole operations in production environments. It is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC drilling operations.
The 4112651 is engineered for primary use in steel workpieces and is rated at a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, supporting maximum drilling depths up to 1.9291 inches in a single pass without peck cycling. The straight shank measures 0.3937 inches in diameter and 1.5748 inches in length, fitting standard drill chucks and collet holders used in CNC machining centers and drill presses. Regular spiral fluting provides consistent chip evacuation during through-hole and blind-hole drilling. Material grade KCPK15 is a specialized carbide grade optimized for steel cutting with high hardness and thermal stability. This drill is suited for production shops, tool rooms, and job shops running high-volume hole-making operations on steel components.
Designed as a DIN 6537K standard jobber-length drill for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automatic drilling equipment accepting straight-shank tooling in the 0.3000 to 0.3500 inch diameter range. Primary workpiece material is steel.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or removing the drill. Verify chuck or collet runout does not exceed the bit diameter tolerance of 0.0002 to 0.0008 inches to avoid premature wear or breakage. When using coolant-through capability, confirm that machine coolant pressure is within the toolholder manufacturer specification before initiating the cycle.
