The KENNAMETAL 4079265 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 5/8 inch diameter with a 0.06 inch corner radius, four right-hand spiral flutes, and a 3/4 inch length of cut. The cutting edges are finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating applied via physical vapor deposition, which improves heat resistance and tool life when cutting hard and abrasive materials. With a short flute length type and high helix style, this end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing passes. It is single-end, centercutting, and accepts standard straight-cylindrical shank toolholders.
This end mill is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is part of the UADE series, which is built around submicron carbide grade construction. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and contouring in CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances and corner geometry are required. Extended reach capability makes it suitable for workpiece features that require clearance beyond standard shank engagement. Compatible toolholding includes HC 1/2 through HC 1 1/4 hydraulic sleeves with inch bores and HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores.
Compatible with HC 1/2 through HC 1 1/4 hydraulic sleeves with inch bores and HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores. Designed for use in CNC machining applications involving steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine in a safe, locked-out state. Ensure the shank is clean and fully seated in the toolholder before tightening to the holder manufacturer's specified procedure. Verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and reduce corner radius accuracy. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and tooling manufacturer feeds and speeds recommendations for the specific workpiece material and depth of cut.
