The KENNAMETAL 4079257 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 3/4 inch diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry combined with an AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear performance suited for both roughing and finishing passes. With a 4 inch overall length and a straight cylindrical 3/4 inch shank, this end mill is installed by machinists and CNC operators working with precision cutting equipment.
This end mill is built for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The short length type and extended reach geometry make it suitable for applications where rigidity and chip evacuation are critical. It is a centercutting, single-end design that supports plunge entry. Compatible toolholding includes HC 1/2 through HC 1-1/4 hydraulic sleeves inch with inch bores, HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores, HC-HSK Form A, and Hydraulic Chuck Standard Line Inch KM63XMZ holders.
Compatible with HC 1/2 through HC 1-1/4 hydraulic sleeves inch with inch bores, HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores, HC-HSK Form A, and Hydraulic Chuck Standard Line Inch KM63XMZ toolholding systems. Intended for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is in a safe state before mounting or removing the end mill. Use a properly sized hydraulic or precision chuck matching the 3/4 inch shank diameter and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and applicable workplace safety guidelines when setting feeds, speeds, and depth of cut for the target workpiece material.
