The KENNAMETAL 4071913 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built on the HPHV platform, this single-end mill features a 0.5-inch diameter, a 1.25-inch length of cut, and a 3.0-inch overall length with a 0.5-inch Weldon flat shank. The 45-degree chamfer geometry with a 0.02-inch chamfer width delivers precise edge-breaking and chamfering on finished or near-finished surfaces. An AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life. The variable-pitch, four-flute configuration supports both roughing and finishing passes while reducing harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts.
This end mill is suited for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials in ISO material groups P, M, K, and H. Typical applications include shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing operations. It performs well in both horizontal and vertical machining centers where a combination of edge chamfering and general milling is required in a single tool. The center-cutting capability and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional climb and conventional milling strategies.
Designed for use in machining applications involving steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. Compatible with standard 0.5-inch end mill holders and Weldon flat-style toolholders. KENNAMETAL catalog number HPHV500S4125CH.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the Weldon flat shank fully in a matched-bore holder and tighten the setscrew against the flat to rated torque per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm spindle runout is within acceptable limits before engaging the workpiece, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tools. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material grade.
