Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 4045136 is a solid carbide turning insert with a CCGT2150LF geometry and KCU10 grade, designed for precision metal-cutting operations. It features a PVD-applied TiAlN coating that delivers high wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. The insert carries an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a positive rake angle of 5 degrees, a 7-degree relief angle, and a honed cutting edge. With a 0.004-inch corner radius and a 0.25-inch inscribed circle, this insert is sized for light to moderate finishing passes. It is installed via screw-on holding method and provides two usable cutting edges per insert.

This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and aluminum. The LF chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing and light machining applications where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are priorities. Maximum depth of cut is 0.0845 inches. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with CNC lathes and turning centers will find this insert well matched to high-wear-resistance and moderate-toughness requirements across ISO material groups P, M, K, N, S, and H.

Key Features

  • TiAlN coating applied via PVD process for high wear resistance in steel, stainless, and cast iron
  • 80-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape with positive rake and positive side clearance
  • LF chip breaker geometry engineered for finishing and light machining passes
  • Honed cutting edge for improved edge stability at light depths of cut
  • Two cutting edges per insert; neutral hand for flexible setup
  • Screw-on holding method compatible with standard CCGT toolholders

Compatibility

Designed as a screw-on replacement insert for toolholders accepting CCGT 21502 (ANSI) or CCGT 060201 (ISO) geometry inserts. Compatible with turning, facing, and boring applications across ISO workpiece material groups P, M, K, N, S, and H.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket before tightening the clamping screw to avoid seating errors that can affect tool life and surface finish. Inspect the insert seat and screw thread for damage each time the insert is indexed.
