The KENNAMETAL 3899199 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built on the UCDE series platform, it features a 0.75 inch mill diameter, a 1.625 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life on harder workpieces. The five-flute, right-hand spiral geometry combined with a high-helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating provides thermal resistance and hardness, making this end mill well suited for dry or minimal-coolant cutting strategies. Licensed machinists and CNC tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this tool.
This end mill is configured for roughing and finishing operations on a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The single-end, straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.75 inch shank diameter is compatible with hydraulic chucks and HSK toolholding systems. It is well suited for mold-and-die work, aerospace component machining, and general precision part manufacturing where corner integrity and material removal rate both matter. Normal pitch spacing and a non-chipbreaker flute profile support consistent performance across a variety of depth-of-cut strategies in CNC machining centers.
Designed for use with HC-HSK Form A, Hydraulic Chuck Standard Line Inch KM63XMZ, and HC-CV Form AD toolholding systems. Suitable for CNC machining centers running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per material application codes P, M, K, S, and H.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all motion is locked out before changing or setting this tool in the holder. Verify shank runout with a dial indicator after clamping to confirm seating within the specified shank diameter tolerance of +0.00000 / -0.00051 inches. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping procedures for hydraulic or HSK chuck systems; do not exceed the holder's rated clamping force.
