The KENNAMETAL 3884491 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use in modular drilling systems, specifically within the KSEM series platform. Manufactured from solid carbide with a KC7410 grade designation and an AlCr PVD coating, this tip delivers consistent cutting performance across a range of demanding workpiece materials. It features a 26mm cutting diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle, and a helical, two-flute design with two margins. The clamp-style insert holding method provides secure seating in the mating holder body. Installation and use are suited for experienced machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC drilling applications.
This drill tip is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S. The KSEM1011HPCCL ISO designation and HPCCL insert geometry make it appropriate for drilling operations including inclined exit conditions and stacked plate configurations. It is a single-unit consumable component replaced when worn, without requiring replacement of the full drill body. Typical applications include production machining environments where modular drill systems are used to balance tooling cost and cutting performance.
Designed for use with KSEM series modular drill holders using insert seat size 5, as specified by the KSEM1011HPCCL ISO number. Compatible with KSEM platform tooling configured for 26mm cutting diameter replaceable tips.
This replaceable tip is installed by a machinist or tooling technician into a compatible KSEM series drill body using the clamp-style holding method. The machine spindle should be fully powered down and locked out before tip replacement. Ensure the insert seat is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the new tip. Follow the tool manufacturer torque and clamping procedure specified for the holder body being used.
