The KENNAMETAL 3884490 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill in the KSEM series, designed for high-productivity hole-making in demanding metalworking applications. This tip carries the HPCCL insert geometry with a 140-degree included angle and a 1.0000-inch (25.40mm) cutting diameter. The tip height is 0.5 inches (15mm) and the flute length is 13mm. A PVD-applied AlCr coating provides thermal stability and wear resistance at the cutting edge. Grade KC7410 with an ISO material grade of K15 positions this insert for use across a wide range of workpiece materials. Two helical flutes in a regular spiral configuration support chip evacuation during drilling. Installation and replacement are handled by qualified machinists and tooling technicians.

This replaceable tip drill is suited for drilling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S. The HPCCL geometry is engineered for applications including standard drilling, inclined exit drilling, stacked plate drilling, and 2-flute 2-margin coolant-assisted setups. Compatibility

Designed as a replaceable tip insert for KSEM series drill bodies with an insert seat size of 5. This tip uses the ISO number KSEM1000HPCCL and is compatible with KSEM series tool holders accepting that seat size. Confirm seat size and series designation on the drill body before ordering.

Installation Notes

Replaceable tip drills in the KSEM series are installed and changed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before removing or seating any cutting insert. Use the correct torque tool or clamping key specified by KENNAMETAL for the KSEM seat size 5 to avoid tip shift or seat damage.
