The KENNAMETAL 3884481 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill in the KSEM series, designed for high-productivity hole-making in a wide range of workpiece materials. The tip carries an AlCr (aluminum chromium) PVD coating applied under the KC7410 grade, which provides thermal resistance and edge durability at elevated cutting speeds. The drill features a 19.84mm (25/32 inch) cutting diameter, a 140-degree included point angle, and a two-flute helical design with a standard point and regular spiral. The tip is held in place by a clamp-style insert seat. This part is intended for use by machinists and tooling technicians operating CNC drilling centers or machining centers in production environments.
The 3884481 tip is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S. Typical applications include standard through-hole and blind-hole drilling, inclined-exit drilling, and stacked-plate drilling operations. The two-flute, two-margin geometry supports stable cutting action in interrupted or transitional entry conditions. This tip mounts to a compatible KSEM series drill body using insert seat size 2 and is sold as a single replaceable tip, allowing body reuse and fast tip changes at the machine.
Designed as a replaceable tip for compatible KSEM series drill bodies using insert seat size 2. The ISO number for this tip is KSEM0781HPCCL. Confirm body seat size and series compatibility before ordering.
Installation and tip changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate torque wrench or clamp key specified for the KSEM body to secure the clamp — do not overtighten by hand or use substitute tools. Inspect the insert seat for chips or contamination before seating the new tip. Follow the drill body manufacturer guidelines for run-in procedure when using a fresh tip.
