The KENNAMETAL 3763728 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ISO designation HNPJ0905ANSNGD and manufacturer grade KCPK30. It features a hexagonal shape with a negative rake angle and 12 available cutting edges, making it a high-utilization double-sided insert for indexable milling applications. The insert is CVD-coated with a TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 multilayer stack designed for thermal resistance and wear performance. With a 0.2189-inch thickness and a 0.6250-inch inscribed circle, this insert fits KENNAMETAL Dodeka cutter series bodies. Installation and indexing are handled by licensed machinists and CNC operators in production machining environments.
This insert is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The GD chip breaker geometry with chamfered and honed cutting edges supports controlled chip formation across a range of feeds and depths. Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.3340 inches. The neutral hand orientation makes it compatible with standard Dodeka milling cutter bodies. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and roughing-to-semi-finishing passes in both job shop and production floor settings where material groups P, M, K, and S are commonly encountered.
Designed for use with KENNAMETAL Dodeka series indexable milling cutter bodies. ANSI code HNPJ535ANSNGD and ISO code HNPJ0905ANSNGD are both referenced for this insert. Insert size code is 535. Fits cutter bodies accepting inserts with an inscribed circle in the 0.6000 to 0.7000 inch range and thickness in the 0.2000 to 0.2200 inch range.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key driver for the clamping screw as specified by the cutter body manufacturer — do not overtighten or use impact tools on insert screws. Inspect the cutter pocket seating surface for chips or damage before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout control.
