The KENNAMETAL 3761059 is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI designation TNMG432UP and ISO designation TNMG220408, manufactured in the KCM25 grade. It features a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, delivering a combination of wear resistance and toughness suited for interrupted and continuous cuts. The insert measures 22 millimeters in length with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 0.03125-inch corner radius. The triangular shape provides 6 usable cutting edges with a negative rake angle and neutral hand, making it a versatile choice for production turning operations in steel and stainless steel applications.
This insert is rated for turning, facing, and boring operations and is part of the KENLOC series. The UP chip breaker geometry is optimized for roughing and medium machining passes. The KCM25 grade is characterized as high toughness for steel (P) workpieces and moderate wear-resistance with toughness for stainless steel (M) workpieces. Secondary suitability extends to superalloys and titanium (S). It is held by clamp or pin methods and is compatible with negative side clearance toolholders. Maximum depth of cut is 1.25 millimeters (0.0492 inches).
Designed for use in KENLOC-series and compatible negative-style TNMG toolholders. ANSI insert code TNMG432; ISO insert code TNMG220408. Fits toolholders configured for clamp or pin retention with negative side clearance (N) and tolerance code M. Multi-use application across turning, facing, and boring operations.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is indexed away from the work zone before seating or replacing inserts. Verify the toolholder pocket is clean and free of chips before installing the insert to ensure proper seating against the locating surfaces. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut for this insert geometry.
