Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 3761041 is a CNMG-style indexable turning insert in grade KCM25, designed for steel and stainless steel machining applications. It features a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, delivering high toughness on steel and moderate wear resistance on stainless steel and superalloys. The insert measures 19.34 mm (0.7616 inches) in length with a 3/4 inch inscribed circle and a 3/64 inch (0.0469 inch) corner radius. The 80-degree diamond shape provides a strong cutting edge geometry suited to roughing and medium machining operations. Licensed HVAC technicians, machinists, and tool-room professionals working on CNC lathes and turning centers are the primary users.

This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, stainless steel, and superalloys including titanium-based workpiece materials. The UP chip breaker geometry is optimized for roughing and medium machining passes. The neutral hand orientation and negative rake angle make it compatible with standard KENLOC-style toolholders that accept CNMG 643 inserts. It is part of the KENLOC series and conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with ANSI code CNMG643 and ISO code CNMG190612.

Key Features

  • KCM25 grade with multilayer CVD coating: TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 for toughness and wear resistance
  • 80-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape with negative rake angle and honed cutting edge
  • UP chip breaker supports roughing and medium machining on steel and stainless steel
  • 4 usable cutting edges per insert with neutral hand orientation
  • Compatible with clamp and pin insert holding methods
  • Conforms to ANSI CNMG643 and ISO CNMG190612 standards

Compatibility

Designed for use in KENLOC-series and other standard CNMG 643 / CNMG190612 compatible toolholders that accept a 3/4 inch inscribed circle insert with clamp or pin holding. Primary workpiece materials are steel (P), stainless steel (M), and superalloys and titanium (S).

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's seating and clamping procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamping components for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut of 0.0492 inches (1.25 mm) for the specified chip breaker geometry.
