The insert features a multilayer CVD coating consisting of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, delivering a combination of high toughness and moderate-to-high wear resistance. With an 80-degree diamond shape, a 3/4-inch inscribed circle, and a 3/64-inch corner radius, this insert suits roughing and medium machining passes. The UP chip breaker geometry promotes effective chip control across a range of feed rates and depths. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert in KENLOC-style toolholders on lathes and turning centers.
This insert is suited for production turning environments where the primary workpiece materials are steel (P-grade) and stainless steel (M-grade), with additional capability on superalloys and titanium. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Before changing inserts, ensure the machine is powered down, the spindle is locked, and all motion has stopped. Inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker for seating integrity before resuming cuts; a loose or misseated insert can cause tool failure and workpiece damage.
