The KENNAMETAL 3760421 is a DNMG432MP indexable turning insert in grade KCM35, designed for high-productivity metal removal on steel and stainless steel components. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating stack of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, delivering a balance of wear resistance and toughness suited for roughing and medium machining operations. The 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape provides a strong cutting geometry, while the MP chip breaker controls chip flow across a broad range of feed and depth-of-cut conditions. Four usable cutting edges maximize tool economy on the shop floor. Insert length is 15.5 mm (0.6102 inches) with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius.
This insert is intended for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers in production and job-shop environments. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO P) and stainless steel (ISO M), with the KCM35 grade also rated for superalloys and titanium applications where high toughness is required. The KENLOC series designation indicates compatibility with Kennametal KENLOC-style toolholders that accept DNMG geometry inserts using clamp or pin holding methods. Insert hand is neutral, making it suitable for both OD and ID applications depending on the toolholder configuration.
Designed for use in KENLOC-series toolholders accepting DNMG432 (ISO DNMG150408) inserts with clamp or pin clamping. Conforms to ANSI and ISO insert standards for direct interchange with compatible DNMG geometry toolholders.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine in a powered-off, locked-out state. Seat the insert fully in the pocket and verify clamp or pin engagement before resuming operation. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut specified for this insert geometry. Inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker for wear or chipping at each index interval.
