The KENNAMETAL 3760293 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CPMT3252LF geometry with KCM25 grade designation. It carries a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, delivering a combination of wear resistance and toughness suited for steel and stainless steel applications. The insert measures 9.67 mm in length with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius. Geometry is 80-degree diamond with a positive rake angle of 5 degrees and an 11-degree relief angle. The LF chip breaker is optimized for finishing and light machining operations. Two cutting edges are available per insert, and the screw-on holding method provides secure clamping during interrupted or continuous cuts.
This insert is intended for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, stainless steel, and superalloys including titanium. It is suited for both residential shop and industrial production environments where tight-tolerance finishing passes are required. The KCM25 grade characteristics emphasize high toughness on steel (P) workpieces and moderate wear resistance with toughness on stainless steel (M) workpieces. A neutral hand orientation allows use in a broad range of toolholders. Machinists and CNC operators performing finishing passes with light depths of cut will find the LF geometry well matched to surface-finish requirements in those material families.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-fit insert for CPMT-style screw-on toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 80-degree diamond geometry per ANSI CPMT3252 and ISO CPMT09T308 standards.
Insert installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine in a locked-out, zero-energy state before any tool change. Seat the insert fully against all pocket walls and tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque using the appropriate Torx or hex key. Inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker groove for chips or debris before seating. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine-specific tool-change protocols when replacing inserts at the spindle.
