The KENNAMETAL 3758167 is a CCMT-style solid carbide turning insert with a multilayer PVD AlTiN/AlCrN coating and an LF chip breaker geometry. Designated industry standard number CCMT2151LF, it features an 80-degree diamond insert shape, a 0.25-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch (0.0156-inch) corner radius. The insert thickness is 3/32 inch and the insert length is 6.45 mm (0.2539 inches). Manufactured to the KCK20 grade, the PVD coating process delivers excellent wear resistance and edge stability for high-precision turning applications. Cutting edges are honed and the rake is positive, supporting consistent chip control in demanding production environments. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces (ISO material codes P and K). It is designed for screw-on insert holding and is appropriate for both residential shop use and industrial production environments. The LF chip breaker is optimized for light to medium finishing cuts, with a maximum depth of cut of 1.25 mm (0.050 inches). It carries a neutral hand designation, making it versatile across a range of tool holders that accept the CCMT 2151 footprint. This insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standards and is applicable across material grades K10 and K25.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fit for screw-on toolholders that accept CCMT 2151 insert geometry. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO code P) and cast iron (ISO code K). Suitable for turning, facing, and boring operations.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Before seating the insert, ensure the toolholder pocket and clamping screw are clean and free of chips or debris. Torque the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification - do not estimate. Always index or replace worn inserts before resuming cuts to prevent tool holder damage or workpiece scrap.
