The KENNAMETAL 3758141 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CNMA643 geometry, designed for high-wear-resistance machining of steel and cast iron. It carries the KCK20 manufacturer grade and features a multilayer AlTiN/AlCrN PVD coating applied over a carbide substrate for extended tool life in demanding turning, facing, and boring operations. The insert has an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a flat-top chip breaker, a neutral hand orientation, and a honed cutting edge style. With four usable cutting edges and negative rake and relief angles, this insert is suited for rigid setups where surface finish and dimensional consistency are priorities. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers.
This insert is applied in turning, facing, and boring operations on steel (ISO material group P) and cast iron (ISO material group K) workpieces. Its KCK20 grade characteristics deliver high wear resistance on steel and a balance of wear resistance to moderate toughness on cast iron. The KENLOC series design accommodates clamp and pin holding methods on compatible toolholders. The insert conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with the ANSI code CNMA643 and the ISO equivalent CNMA190612, making it straightforward to cross-reference against toolholder specifications and insert catalogs.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is secured before seating or replacing inserts. Confirm the insert pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips before clamping to maintain proper insert contact and avoid premature edge failure. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for the clamping screw or pin; do not overtighten.
