The KENNAMETAL 3758135 is a CNMA433 geometry solid carbide turning insert in the KCK20 grade, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual lathe applications. It carries a multilayer PVD coating combining AlTiN and AlCrN for elevated heat resistance and tool life on hard ferrous workpiece materials. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, a 3/64 inch (0.0469 inch) corner radius, and a negative rake angle with a flat-top chip breaker. Cutting edge style is honed. The insert is held by clamp or pin method and provides four usable cutting edges per insert, reducing per-edge tooling cost in production environments.
This insert is suited for steel and cast iron machining operations including turning, facing, and boring. The KENLOC series designation indicates compatibility with Kennametal KENLOC-style toolholders that accept CNMA-style inserts. Primary workpiece material codes P and K confirm suitability for steel and cast iron respectively. The maximum recommended depth of cut is 1.25 mm (0.0492 inch), making it appropriate for finishing and light semi-finishing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance machining environments are the typical end users.
Designed for use in KENLOC-style toolholders accepting CNMA-format inserts. Primary workpiece materials are steel (material code P) and cast iron (material code K), with material grades K10 and K25. Compatible with turning, facing, and boring operations. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards for CNMA433 insert geometry.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is indexed to a safe position before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified for the KENLOC toolholder to secure the insert without cracking the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before each insert change to maintain accurate seating and edge repeatability.
