The KENNAMETAL 3755664 is a solid carbide turning insert with an ANSI insert code of WPMT3252LF and a manufacturer grade designation of KCM15. It features a multilayer TiCN and Al2O3 coating applied via MTCVD CVD process, delivering a balance of wear resistance and toughness suited to finishing and light machining operations. The insert has an 80-degree trigon (W) shape, a positive rake angle of 5 degrees, and an 11-degree relief angle with positive side clearance. Cutting edge style is honed. The screw-on holding method and three available cutting edges make this insert a practical choice for machinists running steel and stainless steel applications on CNC lathes and turning centers.
This insert is designed for turning, facing, and boring operations in production and job-shop environments. Primary workpiece materials include steel (P-class), stainless steel (M-class), and superalloys and titanium (S-class secondary). The LF chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing and light machining passes. Maximum depth of cut is 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches). The KCM15 grade provides moderate wear resistance and toughness for steel, and high to moderate wear resistance and toughness for stainless steel. Suitable for both ANSI and ISO toolholders designed for WPMT-style inserts.
Designed for use in screw-on toolholders accepting WPMT-style inserts per ANSI code WPMT3252 and ISO code WPMT06T308. Compatible with toolholders specifying a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 5/32-inch insert thickness, and 1/32-inch corner radius.
Installation is performed by machining professionals on CNC or manual turning equipment. Power down the machine and follow lockout/tagout procedures before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque. Inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker for damage before each use; do not use a damaged or chipped insert.
